This garden was in close proximity to the Mughal city of Shahjahanabad, founded by the Mughal ruler Shahjahan. Many gardens were also laid out along with this gateway at Karnal Road (originally Grand Trank Road) which are not in existence now.
6. Architectural style This gateway is square in plan. Architecturally, this monument bears pointed arch gateways, vaulted ceilings and foiled arch with some jali work. The most prominent decorative features of the gateways are the two projecting Jharokhas or oriel windows, made of carved red sandstones. The main structure is built of Lakhori bricks.
