5. Brief History Zafar Hasan documented this monument in 1920 CE and dates the Imambara to the Afghan Period but architectural style placed it in Tughlaq Period. An Imambara is a place of congregation for observing Muharram or other important occasion. It is also a place where prayers are led by an Imam (Pious man/Leader). The Imambara and the tomb, which were part of the same site are now separated by road in between.
6. Architectural style It has C-shaped plan and contains seven bays along its length and three bays across its width resulting in fifteen compartments, five of which have domed ceilings. The Imambara is also said to have originally contained enclosure walls around, within which is located a tomb t the east side, presently no enclosure wall is found.
