“The Department of Archaeology was set up in the year 1978 under Government of NCT of Delhi, with a vision to protect, conserve and develop the lesser-known monuments of Delhi, other than those protected and maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India, under the provisions of “The Delhi Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 2004.”
