5. Brief History The Zail is located in a village called Bawana, according to a Marble Slab found on the front façade of the Zail inscribes about Mens who went from Bawana and Alipur village to the First World War (1914- 1919 CE) and 81 of these men gave up their lives during the war. In the memory of these men Zail was constructed.
6. Architectural style The east or front has a large open area, north has a street and west has also a narrow street. The plan is square in shape and has four bastions at corners and a courtyard at the centre. There are cells along all four walls, the east of the plan has an entry passage wide 2400 mm with an opening of 1800 mm span. There is a staircase on the southside with a straight flight having 13 steps to climb up the terrace. The ceiling of the building has wooden rafters to  support, vaults in between with a layer of lime plaster. The entry has a semi-circular arch having a wider base on both sides.
